About Us

Once upon a time, in a search of another exciting place to take pictures of, we had an almost lightning thought to create something that will give photographers, as well as others, an opportunity to have an endless source of beautiful and vivid places and objects to take pictures of.

As photographers know, sometimes there may be a lack of inspiration and a feeling that everything has been explored. Discovery Works is a project to prove such thoughts wrong.

Simply speaking, Discovery Works is a collection of geographical places and sample pictures, submitted by visitors, using Google Maps interface. While it may sound vague, the idea underneath is strikingly simple: if you know a place, whether a factory or a scenic view, park or an urbanistic environment, share it with others!

Designed with photography in mind, we in no way want to constrain your knowledge. This means that if you know place for relaxation, or a hidden bicycle road, or any other exiting and breathtaking place, this is a right place for you to submit it! Don't take your knowledge for granted - what is obvious for you is surely a suprise for someone else.

The mission of this project is to collect an extensive — ideally infinite — collection of places for everyone to visit. If there is a place that is special in any way — we want it to be on discovered.ca, available to anyone. While you may have noticed a ".ca" domain, it is not limited to Canada only. It is true that the creators of discovered.ca (see below) are located in Toronto, but the only limitation to date is the Google Maps coverage.
